Stephen Colbert Sings Friday for Charity

Jimmy Fallon & Stephen Colbert recently announced that they've become Best Friends Forever (for Six Months) and are generously donating each others' time & money to DonorsChoose.org.

Last week, Stephen announced that Jimmy had matched Stephen's gift of $26,000 from the proceeds of a Colbert portrait sold at auction. Unfortunately, Stephen did not tell this to Jimmy.

However, Jimmy is very excited to raise the money for DonorsChoose.org and greatly appreciates the work his BFF (for six months) has done on his behalf.

So, as announced on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, if the Fallon / Colbert Project can raise $26,000 by this Friday April 1st, Stephen Colbert has graciously agreed to sing Rebecca Black's "Friday" accompanied by the Roots.

They raised over $40,000 more than the "quota" and were matched another $26,000 by NBC Universal by the time Friday came around. So here is the video of Stephen Colbert and others singing "Friday."

Japan Tsunami Relief

There are many ways you can help the people who have recently been affected by the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan among other horrific things now happening. Most people already know they can donate to the Red Cross and if you have the means to you should seriously consider that and if not you even help by just keeping the people over there in your prayers.

There are also products you can buy where some or all of the profit goes to Japan relief so if that is easier for you or you would rather donate this way I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated.

You can check out some ways to help in the links below

Help fight AIDS and Childhood Cancer

I am currently looking for new ways for people to help others online but some of the methods on the web require me to download something to help and I can't currently do that because my laptop requires fixing. Now I am using someone else's guest account on their computer which keeps me from being able to download. I tried downloading this program on this computer but sadly it would not work so please comment and tell me how it is if you do decide to download it.

The method of helping i was referring to is World Community Grid (link below.) And they basically use your computer's idle power to combine with other computer's idle power to make a super grid and with this they are applying the energy to research to help with things like AIDS and cancer.

So if you think you might want to try this and help for free the link is here >> World Community Grid

Free Rice!

http://freerice.com/

This is one of my favorite sites to go to in my free time. The site asks you questions, based on the subject you choose, that get progressively more difficult when you answer the question correctly and at the same time donates 10 grains of rice per correct answer. That might not sound like a lot but it adds up quickly because time fly's when you are on this website.

So give it a look and if you don't want to necessarily learn when using this site you can at least answer some questions and try and get them right to feed the hungry.
